Abstract

Husseini rituals represent one of the most prominent cultural and religious symbols that embody the deep connection to the noble humanitarian principles and values for which Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) sacrificed. These rituals have become intertwined with the history of the Islamic nation and have formed an integral part of its identity, carrying within them a message of justice, freedom, and sacrifice for noble values. This study aims to examine the concept of Husseini rituals, their linguistic and terminological dimensions, and to explore their historical roots and their lasting impact across the ages in strengthening the cultural and religious identity of Islamic societies. This work serves as a scholarly contribution that highlights the significance of these rituals in the lives of individuals and communities.

Additionally, the research addresses, in certain sections, issues related to the additions and innovations that have emerged in the practice of Husseini rituals over the centuries. The focus has been placed on how some practices have deviated from their original path, which was intended to express loyalty to the values of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and to spread his reformative message.
