   Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies is an open access refereed journal, all articles published in open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy, and distribute. We currently offer the following license for this journal:

   Licensors are allowed: to distribute and copy the article; to create excerpts, abstracts, revised versions, modifications or derivative works from or from an article (e.g. a translation); to be included in a collective work (e.g. anthology); and to extract text or data from the article. Such uses are permitted even for commercial purposes, provided that the user gives: due credit to the author (with a link to the official publication DOI). The articles in this journal are subject to the terms of the Creative Commons Attributable License (CC BY 4.0) (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode), and the authors retain the copyright of their works published on  the website of Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies.

Peer Review

    Al-Mustansiriya follows a double-anonymized peer review model and all submitted research is evaluated and theoretically reviewed to ensure editorial appropriateness. Al-Mustansiriya Journal of Arab and International Studies does not require a specific structure for review reports. In order for the research   to be accepted for publication,  the journal management first  considers whether the research meets the minimum editorial criteria and fits the scope of the journal. If the research is deemed appropriate for the journal,  the journal management sends the research to two external peer reviewers (who will remain anonymous to the authors) to evaluate the research.

    The reviewer's report should include a comprehensive critique of the research and should not be limited to a few brief sentences. Research subject to peer review should be strictly confidential. Reviewers should not share the research or discuss its content with anyone outside the peer review process. If a reviewer decides to reject the research, please state some of the reasons for the rejection of the research, its main shortcomings, and perhaps some suggestions for published work on the subject.

Archive Policy 

Digital Archiving 

Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies  has   an  electronic backup and maintains access to the journal's content via the CLOCKSS archival system.  which provides decentralized, distributed preservation and on the original version of the content. Besides, the published journal articles can be accessed through the journal's page on the repository https://iasj.rdd.edu.iq/journals/journal/view/324

Backup

Al-Mustansiriya Journal of Arab and International Studies has  an additional backup policy to protect against data loss.

On-site backups:  Full on-site server backups provide disaster recovery options to help protect against data loss or corruption. On-site backups are run daily by the host, and are retained for 7 days by default. Backups are performed on the Hetzner main hosting server, and on the OVH alternate hosting server.

Remote Backup: Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies includes 7-day backups of the OJS database, and daily backups of the cPanel for disaster recovery.

Checking Text Plagiarism

     All the research submitted to the journal is subject to the process of evaluation and examination using a plagiarism prevention program called Turnitin, and confirms  that the Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies rejects the evaluation of research that has a plagiarism rate of up to 20%, including the similarity resulting from the use of artificial intelligence services, which should  not exceed 25%. Hypothetical similarity report presentation method The percentage of the research text that overlaps with one or more published researches. The reuse of the text that has been cited in  a proper and legitimate manner  may contribute to reducing the rate of plagiarism.

   It is important to mention that plagiarism is a serious violation of publication ethics and other violations include repeated searches, fabrication and falsification of data, and inappropriate credit for the researcher's contribution. Thus, intentional plagiarism, fraud or inaccurate statements constitute unethical and unacceptable conduct and submit the same research to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical and unacceptable publication behavior.

 

 

Citation Policy

Documentation Policy

  • Transparent Documentation

All content quoted from other sources, including previous authors' publications, must be properly documented.  Direct quotes should be placed between quotation marks with an appropriate reference attached. This also applies to previously published works of the author (i.e. reuse of the content).

  • Responsible Self-Documentation

   While it is acceptable to refer to the author's work when it is directly relevant, over-self-documentation should be avoided. Documentation should support content, not be used to artificially raise the standards of authentication.

  • Direct use of resources

  Authors should only document works they have read and understood. Copying documentation from other reference lists without reference to the original source is unacceptable and unethical.

  • Avoid preferential documentation

Documentation should be selected based on its scientific value and importance. Authors should avoid preferring their own publications, those of close collaborators, or those of their organization, without apparent justification.

  • Exclude non-academic sources

Materials such as advertisements, sponsored content, or commercial promotional materials are not suitable for academic citation and should not be included in reference lists.

  • Adhere to the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE) guidelines

In line with the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE) guidelines, manipulation of citation practices should be avoided. Any form of citation accumulation, forced citation, or the inclusion of irrelevant references to influence impact measures is strictly prohibited.

  • Ethical Behavior in Citation

Manipulating citation patterns to influence metrics or editorial decisions undermines the integrity of the academic record. These practices will be investigated and may result in editorial sanctions or retraction of the research.

 

 

Advertising Policy

   Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies does not rely on any commercially funded advertisements or publications. It does not accept any commercial sponsorship of the magazine and does not endorse any service as an advertisement or promotion by the sponsor.

Research Publication Fees (APC)

     Publishing a research in the Al-Mustansiriya Journal for Arab and International Studies requires a research publication fee (APC  ), which will be charged from the researcher (the applicant)  after conducting electronic plagiarism and evaluation by experts and accepting his research, the journal collects an amount of (140000) dinars (one hundred and forty thousand Iraqi dinars) and there are no other fees (such as application fees or color fees). The research consists of a number of pages, and each page exceeds (25) pages.An amount of (5000) dinars (five thousand Iraqi dinars) shall be added to it, provided that it does not exceed (5) pages, the payment shall be made by electronic payment and receipt when the wages are paid to the accounts at the Al-Mustansiriya Center for Arab and International Studies.
